vBook 2 new features
vBook 2 follows vBook 1 structure, but has been completely rewritten.
The greatest news concerning artists is management of several copies of the same work, such as the prints and photographs. A new module, Exhibitions, is added, but on the other hand, Projects, Web bookmarks and Videos have been removed. These modules can be added later if our user feedback suggests.
List (non-exhaustive) of new features
General information
- vBook 2 is now available in English and French. The language is selected dynamically, according to that of your system.
- The graphical interface has been greatly enhanced, thanks to the tabs that allow displaying more information on the same window.
- The interface buttons are equipped with tooltips, which make their use more explicit.
- The main menu is flexible. You can order your menus according to your preferences and hide menus that you do not use.
- Preferences panel (general and for certain modules) has been added.
- The menu bar has been reorganized.
- The windows have been enlarged. The content is adapted now to the window size, if this one is resized.
- Now, it is possible to search for software updates automatically.
- The purchase of vBook is handled through an integrated module. This method allows activating the application immediately without waiting for the activation codes by email.
- In the trial version, vBook does not expire anymore after 30 launches. All restrictions were removed, excepted the logo "trial version". That means that if you do not need to print or to use mail merge features, you can use vBook without any other limitation.
- Each window now has a quick find field which is no longer limited to single criteria. You can enter in this field any term corresponding to one or more module fields.
Address Book
- A secondary contact address has been added, as well as a second category field.
- You can see contact invoices and mail directly within contact records.
- If two or more contacts have the same postal address, a Group contacts option lets you display them together on invoices, labels, etc.
- Mail management was reviewed.
- When you print a letter or a label, options button in the print dialog box allows you to hide or display certain items such as titles, society or country.

- Images can be resized directly from vBook.

- Printing options allow you to choose the information to print.
- The print templates have been reviewed.
- You can send a picture via email from vBook.
Exhibitions
- This is a new module that lists your exhibitions and allows you to attach to each exhibition relating works, to easily print price lists.
Invoicing
- Invoices management is slightly different from vBook 1. The Tax calculation field, for example, is no longer attached to an invoice in its entirety, but to the individual items.
- If you are registered for VAT, you can choose to enter your price including tax (as in vBook 1) or before tax. The correct price is automatically calculated at the tax rate you set.
- It is now possible to manage invoices paid in instalments.
- Print options via the User Settings panel allow you to print invoices with or without pictures.
- Via this same preference panel, you can customize titles text and background colours in invoices you print.
Accounts

- Annual statistics display, besides incomings and expenses totals, the VAT amount you can get repaid.
Press, Archive and Passwords modules have undergone little or no modifications.
